Our system with the prisons is choppy at best, as they simply send us patients whenever they have a need to and take them back when they feel they can. In this way, we never know how many beds to expect to need for the prisoners. If we were able to get the same type of data from their system as we do from hospitals, we would be able to bring that to the table as a talking point to strengthen our relationship with the prison system and ensure that both parties are getting what they need out of the agreement.
